TAKAYAMA SAKE TASTING

Hearing from IORI STAY guests that “there is nothing to do in Hida at night”, we created Takayama Sake Tasting as a solution to meet their needs.
In 2016, an intern from Nagoya University lived in Hida for three months and started this experience from scratch. Every day, he listened to feedback from participants and improved the experience. Through this repetition, he came up with a new type of tasting experience: not just tasting, but a perfectly balanced combination of Japanese cultural experience, tasting, and entertainment.
Since FY2018, this sake experience has been part of the world-renowned group travel innovator Contiki Tours (which organizes tours that are only open to those under 35 years old), and tours are now included in all Japan tours.
It has grown to be one of the most popular experiences in Takayama.
